    • Dreams do come true!

Posted at 7:30 pm by seekimber, on November 10, 2017

Yesterday was the big day – The Myer National Fashions On The Field final! I was so lucky to be able to experience this moment for a second time, after coming 2nd Runner Up in the 2014 Myer FOTF National final. I never thought I would get this opportunity again! Continue reading →

    • Myer FOTF NSW State Final

Posted at 10:30 am by seekimber, on October 28, 2017

This year the Myer FOTF competition had a change up, the NSW State Final was going to be held off the race course at Coogee Pavilion! There was much conversation amongst the racing community, as The Everest – Sydney’s biggest race day was also on that day and which FOTF event would you pick. Or would would you do both!?

I wasn’t planning on going up to Sydney for any of the events, however my girlfriend Brodie, who won the Myer FOTF competition in 2014 suggested I come up for a fun weekend with her. So on the Tuesday night, I booked last minute flights to Sydney! Continue reading →

    • Emirates Stakes Day

Posted at 7:47 pm by seekimber, on November 13, 2016

The last day of the carnival is here and my feet are definitely happy to see my sneakers for a while after today! Emirates Stakes Day has always been a favourite of mine, as it’s a little more relaxed and it’s so cute seeing the kids running around dressed up for Junior Fashions On The Field.

After playing around in my wardrobe, I decided to go for an all white off the shoulder look with a fun colour pop of coral. I’ve had this gorgeous Felicity Northeast boater, Ellery statement sleeve top and Sophia Webster heels that I’ve been dying to wear, so today seemed like the perfect occasion.

    • Crown Oaks Day

Posted at 8:12 am by seekimber, on November 11, 2016

There’s only a few times a year one of my best friends, Charlotte comes home from overseas so I couldn’t wait to spend Ladies Day again with her this year!  The sun was shining and we were ready for a great day, filled with amazing fashion in the finals of the Fashions On The Field competition and fun in the Mumm marquee.

Being ladies day, we both opted for feminine silhouettes and colour palettes. White and gold has been a favourite of mine this season so my mum and I once again whipped up a very last minute outfit for the day. Accompanied by another amazing hair style from the geniuses at Heading Out Hair and Beauty in Fitzroy and my new favourite Kim Weibenga headpiece – the outfit was complete.

    • Navy is the new black

Posted at 6:10 pm by seekimber, on July 24, 2016

This season is all about navy! For someone who lives in black most days, I’ve really enjoyed the change up navy has brought to my life. Finally I can justify my shopping addiction as I can wear outfits day-to-day and for racing.

Now I know what you’re thinking… Navy is a little boring!? You are wrong. When you pair it back with a pop colour, navy becomes a real statement and will stand out amongst the other dark Winter looks. I am especially loving mint, fuchsia, wine or white teamed back with navy, as these colours make the navy pop and will translate from Winter racing through to Spring.

    • Royal Ascot Day 1

Posted at 12:04 pm by seekimber, on June 30, 2015

Today I experienced something one can only dream of – attending Royal Ascot. Thanks to Melbourne Racing Club, I won a once in a lifetime experience to attend not just one but two days at Royal Ascot as part of an 8 day trip to London. Continue reading →

    • AAMI Derby Day

Posted at 11:39 am by seekimber, on November 7, 2014

Despite the cool weather, celebrities and punters donned their best black and white for AAMI Derby Day on Saturday.  To start of the day, I had the pleasure of attending the Cecconi’s Derby Day breakfast with my good friend Charlotte from Winston and Willow. This was a perfect start to the day before heading out to the track.

As a Fashions on the Field spectator this year, I had the fun task of mingling with the Myer Fashions on the Field National finalists whilst watching the first round of the Womenswear Victorian finals and the Menswear competition. Continue reading →

    • Introducing – Rebecca Share

Posted at 10:50 pm by seekimber, on October 29, 2014

As the lead up for Flemington draws near, we all start going into overdrive hunting for outfits and headpieces to suit the days. It is always hard finding the right dress, but it’s equally as hard finding the right milliner.  I like to shop around when it comes to millinery, as every milliner has their own unique style and specialities.

To make this process easier for you all this carnival, I’d like to cover off some of my favourite milliners in the coming weeks. Although many milliner’s have stopped taking custom orders, they do have many amazing pieces left for purchase – you just have to find the right style.

This week I would like to introduce my local Geelong milliner – Rebecca Share. Rebecca has won the prestigious MYER Fashions on the Field ‘Millinery Award’ back in 2011 and again last year placed ‘2nd Runner Up’.  After seeing Rebecca’s amazing aqua collection this Spring, I knew she was the right milliner to create a headpiece to match my Caulfield Carnival outfit.

Bec’s style is very unique; its streamlined, big and a real statement. Here are my picks from her latest collection to suit each race day.

    • Reinvent the pencil skirt this season

Posted at 8:12 am by seekimber, on October 9, 2014

We all love a pencil skirt and with the full circle now in fashion, where does it leave last seasons favourite skirt?

The pencil is still very much in this season, so don’t go tossing them out just yet. With new styles to reinvent the shape, it is still my go to skirt this carnival. The key is to invest in a great flattering silhouette and for those curvier ladies, opt for one that finishes just above the knee instead of the midi. I always look for interesting textures, prints and finishes to stand out in the crowd and to avoid the typical ‘office’ look.

Here are my tips and tricks to work the pencil in this season. Continue reading →

    • Carnival Preview Day

Posted at 9:57 am by seekimber, on September 23, 2014

Carnival Preview Day is definitely one of my favourite days, its the first of the festivity at Caulfield Racecourse and a great way to ease into the carnival. I started the day at my favourite salon – Heading Out Hair and Beauty in Fitzroy Street. They are the best in understanding racing hair and always create a fabulous do to compliment your headpiece.

This week we opted for a deconstructed french roll, which is classic but still a hot look this season.  Stay tuned this week, for Heading Out’s top hair trends this race season, they will definitely have you sorted for the carnival.

Caulfield racing fashion has always be quite classic but with a modern twist – a look that is quite hard to achieve. Continue reading →
