This season is all about navy! For someone who lives in black most days, I’ve really enjoyed the change up navy has brought to my life. Finally I can justify my shopping addiction as I can wear outfits day-to-day and for racing.
Now I know what you’re thinking… Navy is a little boring!? You are wrong. When you pair it back with a pop colour, navy becomes a real statement and will stand out amongst the other dark Winter looks. I am especially loving mint, fuchsia, wine or white teamed back with navy, as these colours make the navy pop and will translate from Winter racing through to Spring.
After going on the hunt for a statement skirt with a navy base, I came across this beautiful floral skirt from Review. The textured fabric and the real pop of fuschia really caught my eye. It was perfect for the races and the office so I definitely needed this skirt in my life.
With a more relaxed racing event in sight, I decided to wear a slightly sheer blouse back with the skirt. I am a huge fan of a fine blouse as it’s the perfect combination of modern and conservative. This look definitely translates into racing now, thanks to Self Portrait’s skin tone cut outs last Spring. I was lucky to also find a sheer textured blouse to pair back with the skirt at Review, creating the perfect relaxed racing look for Winter carnival.
Here is how my look came together.
