Carnival Preview Day is definitely one of my favourite days, its the first of the festivity at Caulfield Racecourse and a great way to ease into the carnival. I started the day at my favourite salon – Heading Out Hair and Beauty in Fitzroy Street. They are the best in understanding racing hair and always create a fabulous do to compliment your headpiece.
This week we opted for a deconstructed french roll, which is classic but still a hot look this season. Stay tuned this week, for Heading Out’s top hair trends this race season, they will definitely have you sorted for the carnival.
Caulfield racing fashion has always be quite classic but with a modern twist – a look that is quite hard to achieve.
I have always struggled to create the perfect combination of the two so thought I would try to play it a little safe with a beautiful full circle skirt, teamed back with a jacket and shirt. I absolutely love pastels at the moment and thought this style was a perfect fit. I then tried to bring in my modern twist with a stunning custom made Rebecca Share Millinery piece in aqua suede and french braid.
Other trends that emerged at Preview Day which I have been dying to try were the amazing lip digital prints and red mixed with pink. Both trends are hard to pull off, but the girls looked amazing and clearly the judges thought so too. The 3 of us have made it through to the Caulfield Cup Final and I can’t wait to see what the coming events bring.
Here are some of my favourite images from the day.

I would love to know where you got your bag from, I have been trying to find something similar with NO luck!

Hi Annika, I bought it on eBay from the UK. It was so hard to find a white one! Are you after white or another colour?
Annika
Hi Crystal,
I am after white, all I can find is tje usual clutch that you carry, nothing with a cute litte handle like yours 🙂

I spent hours searching what they were called as I bought an orange one last year at Myer. Try looking up box clutch 🙂

Hi Crystal.
I was wondering where you purchased your clear perspex clutch? And did you make the coloured purse inserts?
Love your outfits!

Hi Amanda,
Thank you!
I purchased the Perspex nearly 2 years ago on Etsy and make all the coloured inserts. Very easy and great way to match a bag to your outfit. C x
