    • Crown Oaks Day

Posted at 8:12 am by seekimber, on November 11, 2016

There’s only a few times a year one of my best friends, Charlotte comes home from overseas so I couldn’t wait to spend Ladies Day again with her this year!  The sun was shining and we were ready for a great day, filled with amazing fashion in the finals of the Fashions On The Field competition and fun in the Mumm marquee.

Being ladies day, we both opted for feminine silhouettes and colour palettes. White and gold has been a favourite of mine this season so my mum and I once again whipped up a very last minute outfit for the day. Accompanied by another amazing hair style from the geniuses at Heading Out Hair and Beauty in Fitzroy and my new favourite Kim Weibenga headpiece – the outfit was complete.

    • Emirates Melbourne Cup Day

Posted at 9:32 pm by seekimber, on November 8, 2016

It was looking to be a dreary Melbourne Day but nothing was going to stop the fun at biggest racing event on the calendar – Melbourne Cup Day! My very fashionable girl friend, Georgia had come down from the Queensland for the day, which we had been planning for months. From daily chats planning outfits to sharing Pinterest boards, we couldn’t wait for the day to finally come around, especially since we had missed Derby Day! Continue reading →

    • BMW Caulfield Cup Day

Posted at 8:50 am by seekimber, on October 31, 2016

After missing Caulfield Guineas last weekend, I couldn’t wait head to BMW Caulfield Cup Day with my very chic girl friend, Bonnie. Caulfield Cup Day has always been a favourite event of mine, as I’ve had so many amazing memories there – from my first ever Fashions On The Field Competition, way too much fun in the Young Members and Pegasus marquees and my biggest Fashions On The Field win in 2014. • Sydney Spring Carnival

Posted at 8:54 pm by seekimber, on October 16, 2016

The Myer NSW Fashions On the Field competition is traditionally held at Royal Randwick on Spring Champion Stakes day, which is always a tough decision for me as it’s also Caulfield Guineas Day in Melbourne. This year, Myer parted ways with the Australian Turf Club and found a new location for the state final – George St Mall with Royal Randwick holding their own digital competition instead. This meant 3 fashions events to choose from!

I chose to attempt the fashions double in Sydney – George St Mall and the digital competition at Randwick. It was going to be an ‘amazing race’ of Fashions on the Field to be able to do both! Continue reading →

    • David Jones Launches Spring Collection In Style

Posted at 6:40 pm by seekimber, on August 4, 2016

Spring is officially here! Last night some of Australia’s biggest faces in modelling came together to launch the David Jones Spring / Summer 2016 collection. Jesinta Campbell, Gemma Ward, Jessica Gomes and Montana Cox all graced the runway showing off the latest collections from some of my favourite Aussie designers; Ellery, Romance Was Born, Zimmermann and Ginger & Smart.

Bright, bold prints took center stage with flirty lace and bellowing sleeve detailing also featuring heavily. Pastels seem to be the ‘it’ palette this season and our favourite reliable friend, monochrome is back again.   Continue reading →

    • Bletchingly Stakes Day

Posted at 6:30 pm by seekimber, on July 31, 2016

The sun was finally shining in Melbourne and what better way to spend a Saturday than a day at the races. After missing most of Winter carnival, my friends Jill Humphries, Bree Laughlin and I all dressed up and headed to Caulfield Racecourse for lunch in the Members Dining room. Continue reading →

    • Navy is the new black

Posted at 6:10 pm by seekimber, on July 24, 2016

This season is all about navy! For someone who lives in black most days, I’ve really enjoyed the change up navy has brought to my life. Finally I can justify my shopping addiction as I can wear outfits day-to-day and for racing.

Now I know what you’re thinking… Navy is a little boring!? You are wrong. When you pair it back with a pop colour, navy becomes a real statement and will stand out amongst the other dark Winter looks. I am especially loving mint, fuchsia, wine or white teamed back with navy, as these colours make the navy pop and will translate from Winter racing through to Spring.

    • Stepping away from blocking

Posted at 6:00 pm by seekimber, on April 29, 2016

Recently I was having coffee with a girlfriend, chatting all things fashion and my upcoming FOTF competitions when she pointed out that most people know what to expect from my outfits. It was actually pretty true!

I love to block – whether it is colour or prints. I can’t get enough of it and I feel I have had some pretty good luck with this concept over the years. It did get me thinking though, I should try something new and push myself creatively. Continue reading →

    • The Finishing Touches

Posted at 12:27 pm by seekimber, on April 21, 2016

The racing hair do is fast becoming more important and sometimes the difference in a winning look. It is the final element to an outfit, that most people don’t consider until the day of the event, but can stand you ahead of the pack and complete the look you’ve worked so hard to create. • Relaxed racing at Caulfield

Posted at 7:00 pm by seekimber, on March 4, 2016

In terms of race wear, the word relaxed is quite foreign to me. When I go to the races, I like to go all out with big millinery and a statement dress so for me relaxed race wear was a bit of fun and a challenge. Continue reading →
