It has been a week and I am still finding it hard to put into words the excitement I felt when I was announced as the winner of Chadstone Fashions On The Field at the 2014 Caulfield Cup.
The lead up to the day was quite nerve racking. I’d won my way through to the final via Preview Day a few weeks earlier and I was stressing that my outfit might be trumped by someone on the day of the finals. The good thing about winning through earlier is that you can’t change anything about your outfit so you just have to trust what you have already put together and hope for the best.
My two favourite trends this season are pastels and full circle skirts so thought no better time to wear the two in one. My outfit consisted of cheap and chic designer pieces, ranging from a Peter Pilotto jacket, Bardot sleeveless shirt, home made skirt, eBay box clutch, Lovissa accessories and my favourite shoe by Tony Bianco this season – the Fayme Mule.
As it turned out, I was lucky enough to be crowned the winner with the judges giving me the nod after what felt like an eternity waiting for the result. Now I have a trip to London to attend the 2015 Royal Ascot races to look forward to in June.
