The racing hair do is fast becoming more important and sometimes the difference in a winning look. It is the final element to an outfit, that most people don’t consider until the day of the event, but can stand you ahead of the pack and complete the look you’ve worked so hard to create.

I spend almost as much time researching fashion trends as I do hair styles, because it can make or break a look. The hair style must match the style of your outfit; modern, sleek or classic and as hair isn’t my specialty, it takes me quite some time to find the right look.

I am lucky to have found the most amazing hair gods Caterina Di Biase and Klara Simpson at Heading Out Hair & Beauty – Fitzroy who take my Pinterest pictures and turn them into masterpieces. As I have short fine hair, I am a challenge for most hairdressers as I always pick hair styles that require a lot of hair… I dream of having perfect long thick hair but sadly that isn’t the case!

From long pony tails, bun braiding, deconstructed french rolls; you name it they have done it and sometimes even with the help of 2 full sets of hair extensions! A talented hairdresser can create almost any look, so don’t be deterred if you have short hair like me.

I believe their hairstyles have contributed to some of my most successful events and are my lucky charm. If you ever find yourself in Melbourne, book yourself in or spend time before your next meet just planning a unique hairstyle.

Here are some of my favourite hairstyles that Heading Out Hair & Beauty have created for me.
