The big Australian retailers – Myer and David Jones really set the tone for the Spring Carnival and what to expect for the coming season. Prior to these shows, I spend hours on style sites searching the latest runway trends and picking what I think will transcend into Australian fashion the following season. I hang out for these parades and lookbooks, not only for the excitement that Winter is finally coming to an end, but to see what we can expect from the celebrities at the racecourse this season.

The David Jones parade kicked off last night in Sydney, with a bang. A beautiful bang featuring Jessica Gomes and Montana Cox. This season for DJ’s is all about bright colours teamed with your black and whites, beautiful sorbet tones and loose lightweight silhouettes. Designers Manning Cartell, Ginger and Smart, Ellery and Nicola Finetti really caught my eye. Manning Cartell for their citrus twist to black and white, Ginger and Smart for their reinterpreted animal prints, Ellery and her amazingly cool silhouettes and Nicola Finetti with their beautiful sorbet deco prints.
