Carrie Bradshaw pretty much sums me up ‘I’ve spent $40,000 on shoes and I have no place to live? I will literally be the old woman who lived in her shoes!’ Its safe to say the shoe shopping for racing is my favourite part – finally an excuse to justify my shoe addiction.
In my defence, I do like to shop on a budget and head to all the factory outlets first or my other love, ebay.
There are not too many rules when it comes to spring racing shoes, except for keeping them on at the end of the day. Nothing looks worse than walking barefoot out of the racecourse. When it comes to shopping for shoes, look for a pair that compliments your outfit. Not in the sense that its all one colour, but one that ties the outfit together. I love to pick the least obvious colour in a detailed outfit as its unpredictable and will stand out in the crowd. When all else fails, go nude! Nude shoes never go out and lets your dress be the hero.
My go to shoe brands are definitely Tony Bianco, Seed or on the pricier end, Green with Envy for designer shoes. I do recommend holding out for their amazing 70% sales, I have picked up a few bargain pairs there.
With so many options to choose from this season from block heels, mules and metal details, here are my top 10 picks for the carnival.
