What is shiny and new? This trend is!

Earlier in the year when I was planning Autumn carnival outfits, I discovered a new found love of shiny patent leather fabric. It seems many other designers have since discovered this love, after seeing many brands release pre Spring Summer styles donning this fabric in the past few weeks.

Alex Perry was one of the first to kick start this trend last Spring with the dress I’m wearing, but when I looked really far back in my saved designer inspiration, it seems Roksanda was pioneering this trend back in 2013.

In preparation for this Spring Carnival, I have been buying up patent fabrics in a range of different colours, pulling inspiration from Alex Perry, Christian Siriano and Emilia Wickstead.

The question is, which colour will I pick? Here’s are few of my favourite patent looks available for presale now. Sadly most of these styles will just miss this Spring Carnival but who said we can’t stock up for 2020!? I never need an excuse to shop!
