This week Caulfield kicked off their Spring Carnival in spectacular style, holding their annual Members Millinery evening. This event has always been a favourite of mine, as I have the opportunity to view the latest creations from all of my favourite milliners, whilst sipping on a flute of champagne. And even better, the chance to try on all the new styles without the need to travel all around Melbourne.
Jill and Jack, Rebecca Share, Louise Macdonald, Melissa Jackson, Felicity Northeast, Ward and Wylie, Serena Lindeman and Peter Jago were all in attendance this year, which could only mean bad news for my credit card. It was also a special event for Paris Kyne’s family, displaying his final collection. For those who would like to view his final collection, you will have the opportunity at the Fashion and Entertainment Precinct on Caulfield Guineas Day and and Caulfield Cup Day.
A fabulous new addition to the event this year, was a couture millinery parade featuring all the key pieces from each milliners collection. Seeing how the milliners would style back their pieces was insightful and left people walking away inspired for the upcoming carnival.
The colours were bright, the blocking even more daring and a style to suit everyone. No matter what your taste, the milliners had you covered.
I did walk away with a beautiful Rebecca Share headpiece that I can’t wait to share with you all. Stay tuned, I’ll need to hit the sewing machine first!
Here are some shots by SDP media from the event.
